Last month, Taylor Swift was named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. Now, fans have voted her Ticketmaster’s Artist of the Year, as part of the ticket company’s annual Ticket of the Year honors.
Taylor won the award thanks to her Reputation stadium tour, which has become the biggest-selling North American trek by a female artist ever. She broke the previous record set by….herself, with her 1989 tour in 2015.
As for Ticketmaster’s Event of the Year, that went to Springsteen on Broadway, the autobiographical show which put rock god Bruce Springsteen into his smallest venue in 40 years: New York City’s 960-seat Walter Kerr Theater. What began as an eight-week limited run soon extended to 200 shows, with tickets changing hands for thousands of dollars.
Meanwhile, Billboard reports that Ariana Grande‘s upcoming tour is Ticketmaster’s most-anticipated U.S. tour of 2019, while in the U.K., Pink’s Beautiful Trauma stadium tour is the year’s most-anticipated event.
